Rural Irish communities have been stricken by the imposition of massive industrial wind turbines and pylons.

Dear Commissioner

I am the Irish Spokesperson for the European Platform Against Wind Farms; Rural Irish communities have been stricken by the imposition of massive industrial wind turbines and pylons. The terms of the Aarhus Convention and European Directives on planning for large scale development have bye passed.

Absolutely no proper assessments were ever done. A striking thing is that where people such as Michael and Dorothy Keane have left their homes, they welcomed the wind turbines and did not object. All the evidence is that every one was pre disposed favourably to the wind farm plan. Within a week of commissioning, they realised there was a problem with noise. Note the Browne County Health Study in the USA which found wind farms to be a health hazard.

Please note that when the contribution to adequacy is properly counted for wind farms, I claim that that contribution is tiny and at large penetration of wind energy, it is negative. In certain circumstances, wind farms are net consumers of electricity and net emitters of co2 measured over one year.

Please see ” val martin ireland you tube myth about wind energy” and the “Irish Energy Blog” I ask you and your organisation to concede to the request of Dr Laurie in the interest of the health of your citizens.

Yours faithfully,

Val Martin
Co. Cavan , Rep of Ireland.
