Huson, L. Submission to Federal Senate Inquiry into Wind Farms

Acoustician W. Les Huson presented a detailed submission to the Senate Inquiry into the Social and Economic Impact of Rural Wind Farms, 2011

Mr Huson comments on the current method of measuring the noise emanating from wind turbines, and recommends full spectrum monitoring to inform independent and rigorous research, so as to ensure that communities are not harmed. He particularly refers to sleep disturbance as a major characteristic of annoyance suffered by rural residents living too close to inappropriately sited wind turbines.
