Testimony, David Brierley, South Lakeland District Council, Cumbria UK

David Brierley, retired police officer, and his wife live within 1km of the Powergen Renewables wind project in Cumbria. His letter to the South Lakeland District Council outlines the problem his family, and their neighbours, have experienced with noise from the wind turbines. September, 2009

Mr. Brierley states that the developer mislocated the turbines so far away from their approved plan locations that they are even outside the “red line” planning application area and thus do not benefit from planning permission.

What then, asks Mr. Brierley, of any original ground integrity, noise and hydrology surveys?

Turbines thump incessantly, causing residents to leave their premises in a desperate attempt to gain respite from the incessant noise that kept them awake, made them ill and interfered with their quality of life.
