Why dB(A) Doesn’t Work for Wind Farm Noise – Waterloo Noise Study

Graphs from the South Australian Environmental Protection Agency Wind Farm Environmental Noise Study 2013 clearly show that by relying solely on “A weighted” levels, there is a failure to capture the part of the sound spectrum which is disturbing residents inside their homes and causing sleep disturbance.

The Foundation renews its call for Full Spectrum noise measurements, both inside and outside dwellings, to determine the actual level of damaging noise experienced by some neighbours of wind energy projects around the world.

The graph (available below) was prepared by Mrs Mary Morris for the Flyers Creek NSW Planning Assessment Commission hearing in February, 2014.
